Yang Calls on Mayor De Blasio To Invest Federal COVID Relief Funding Wisely, Save for Future Budget Shortfalls

New York, NY—This morning, Andrew Yang held a press conference outside of City Hall urging Mayor de Blasio to spend incoming federal funds from the American Rescue Plan wisely, and with an eye towards projected future budget shortfalls.
Said Andrew Yang, “The funds that New York City receives from the American Rescue Plan need to be invested in a recovery fund to be spent over the next few years, not the next few months. I am calling on Mayor de Blasio to invest these funds judiciously so that the City can have a long-term recovery from COVID, rather than just plugging immediate budget gaps.” You can see view the whole address here.
